Zinc Arts Centre is a vibrant hub for the arts and creativity in Ongar, Essex. We offer a range of artistic and creative activities, including art exhibitions, workshops, performances, and events, for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Our aim is to provide opportunities for everyone to engage in creative activities and develop their skills.
We work with vulnerable and disadvantaged adults, children, and young people, including those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental ill-health, deprivation, or isolation. Our centre provides arts, education, and positive participation activities for the local and wider community in Essex and beyond, striving to foster a sense of community and inspire creativity among our participants.

Zinc Arts Centre is a community, arts, and education charity based in Ongar, Essex. Our center is located in a beautiful Victorian building that offers a blend of historic and contemporary spaces, including traditional workspaces, a modern theatre that can accommodate up to 120 people, residential accommodation, and parking for up to 50 cars. We have a team of passionate individuals who are dedicated to promoting inclusion and equality, providing specialist participation for individuals and groups who face challenges in accessing high-quality arts activities. Our vision is to provide opportunities for all, regardless of background, to discover and fulfill their potential, leading to more rounded, happy, and inclusive societies. We collaborate with organizations throughout the country to offer bespoke programs, both nationally and in our fully accessible building, aiming to build soft skills such as self-esteem, teamwork, problem-solving, and improved communication, as well as providing positive role models and mentoring. Zinc Arts Centre also serves as a community center and theater, offering their spaces for hire to the local community.
