Zinc works with disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults to ensure they have the same opportunities, choice and control in their lives as the rest of society. Our work is different because we use the arts to engage with participants. We provide them with the chance to explore a rich and varied cultural life whilst addressing the enormous barriers and problems that they face on a daily basis. Our aim is always to ensure they have the support, advice and skills to lead independent lives as active members of our communities.

A core part of our mission is the development of artists with disabilities or those from disadvantaged background. We wish to showcase art from under-represented groups and ensure their visibility in society.
