Vision and Mission


Vision

Zinc is an arts organisation which exists to advance and promote the creativity, culture and heritage of disabled young people and adults and socially excluded groups, for the benefit of all.


We strive to be a centre of excellence :-


  • Generating 'pathways' within the arts
  • Stimulating high-quality, diverse and experimental art works
  • Providing lifelong learning, training and employment opportunities
  • Creating platforms for the exploration and representation of the cultures and neglected histories of excluded groups
  • Initiating informed debate and influencing policy-making
  • Fostering enabling environments
  • Advancing inclusion, accessibility and equality in the wider arts environment, and in the communities in which we live



Aims

Zinc's key aims are to :-

  • Extend the scope and range of our work
  • Achieve sustainability in all aspects of our activities
  • Become more independent in our artistic and educational work by broadening our partnerships
  • Enhance the profile of Zinc



Objectives

In order to meet these aims, Zinc will :-

  • Establish a world class centre of excellence for disability, arts and social inclusion
  • Develop the artistic and educational programme
  • Develop and sustain new local, regional, national and international partnerships
  • Increase the range of income and funding streams available to the organisation
  • Promote and develop social enterprise
  • Develop marketing activities
  • Develop and employ exemplary management, finance and administration and quality assurance systems
