
Zinc has a ‘duty of care’ to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure the safety of any person involved in any activity for which the company is responsible. We take this ‘duty of care’ very seriously, so that everyone we engage and work with can enjoy Zinc’s activities in a safe, supportive environment, with well trained staff working to robust and clear policies. All our staff are enhanced CRB checked and have regular training to ensure our skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
Zinc believes that the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults is paramount. Regardless of their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief, and/or sexual identity, they all have the right to protection from abuse.
Zinc is committed to the safeguarding of all the children and vulnerable adults with whom it works through the following means:
Awareness: Ensuring that all staff and others are aware of abuse and the risks facing children and vulnerable adults
Prevention: Ensuring through awareness and good practice, that staff and others minimise the risk facing children and vulnerable adults.
Reporting: Ensuring that all staff and others involved in our work are clear what steps to take where concerns arise regarding the safety of children and vulnerable adults.
Responding: Ensuring action is taken to support and protect children and vulnerable adults where concerns arise regarding possible abuse.

Health and Safety
As part of ensuring participants and partners’ safety, we have a thorough Health and Safety Policy and undertake all activity to ensure the health and safety of all those we work with and who visit our Arts Centre.
